Sensors

by Cameron Huddlestone-Holmes last modified 2007-11-22 11:47

We are working with a range of sensors, all of which are connected to Sensor Gateways. Data flows from the sensors to the Sensor Gateways where it is aggregated, buffered and then transmitted to the data repository (or data manger). Under our current scheme the data you are viewing here is presented as a web service from the data repository. As a result, live data is actually a few seconds old.  We are working with the ARCHER project group to initiate secure, real time access to the data streams.

Sensor Gateways

A Sensor Gateways has been deployed at Davies Reef (on the AIMS weather station).  Our working name for this system is froggie. In the interactive data link below this system is referred to as a "sink". A second sink (tadpole) is listed, and is a spare as well as being a testbed for development. The data in the datasets that you can view are now being collected LIVE and transmitted via the 10 Mbps link from Davies reef.  This link went live at ~8:05pm on 19 July, 2007.
